River's Edge golf course is a spectacular Arnold Palmer design situated next to the Shallotte River. As soon as Palmer gazed at the land before him, he assigned one of his top project managers, Erik Larsen, to the job. The result? A course ranked in the "Top New Courses You can Play in 2000" by Golf Magazine, as well at "The Best Courses Near You" in 2008.
The sixth hole sits high upon bluffs that overlook two miles of grassy marshlands. The interior holes feature gentle elevation changes, freshwater lake, and new Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens.

Not for the faint of heart, many bunkers with narrow fairways. Accurate shot placement a plus.
Great course. Great condition. Rating icon would not let me rate it a 5 which it deserves.
Course is in awful shape, you may as well not even bring a putter the greens are so bad. It's a crime they are still collecting money for you to play here. People should be notified of these conditions!!!!!

Tear up these greens and start over. They are pocked with Poa. Implossible to see a line. Long puts run true, but the three footers are impossible. Does the superintendent live in the state, or do they outsource this job!
played on a rainy day so couldn't enjoy the layout as much as we would have liked. greens here were sparse and bumpy other than that the course was ok hopefully they can get some more growth on the greens
It's now 4 years I drived and walked on your beautiful alleyes, putted on your pristine greens, can't stop remembering this marvelous ninth hole, seriously, this is my favorite course I ever played and will be tough to beat.
love the course. played it 2 yrs ago and it was terrible. this yr. it was great greens rollled smooth and were consistent will play again next yr.
fabulous as always
An excellent track and very demanding and challenging. Conditions are such that I don't believe in the 10 times I've played there have I ever been able to take the carts into the fairway.Staff and facilities are excellent
Challenging and enjoyable
Gorgeous place. Not meant to be played by amateurs from the tips!!!!!. Move up to the tees in your skill level and enjoy your round. Take lots of balls if you don't.
Tough track if you've never played before and if the clubhouse runs out of yardage books! Don't get frustrated if you've never played before and don't shoot a good score. Lots of hazards you can't see from the tee box and no help to let you know they're there! The back 9 is worth the price of admission.
A pleasure to play. Recommend everyone play this course.
Rivers Edge is closing for the summer and should be open with paspalum grass greens just after the first of August.
