River Oaks golf course is one of the few in the Myrtle Beach area where golfers can choose from three unique nine-hole courses: Bear, Otter and Fox. Bear is the longest of the three, Otter has many water hazards, and Fox is a very tricky course that requires crafty play.
River Oaks offers many challenging shots over the course of the round. There are water hazards all over the course, and the rolling nature of the layout challenges golfers with a lot of tricky lies. Plus, the many tee options allow golfers of all skill levels to enjoy a round.

This course is an easier course but beautiful and moved quickly. The staff was very nice. Definitely would choose this course on a return visit.
This course was not in great shape. The bunkers were literally piled with sand that had not been raked. The tee boxes did not have secured tee markers and the fairways were not groomed well. If the course were in better shape it would have been nice but it needs work

I got a chance to play River Oaks yesterday and have to say the course was in really good shape. The owners of the course have invested $2 million into the course with new cart paths, cleared out about 2,000 trees, and replaced some of the bunkers. The Greens were in really good shape. Small undulations in the greens make for very tricky putts and anything above the hole was very fast down hill. Tees, Fairways, Rough and Bunkers were also in good shape. Overall course was in really good shape. This is also a very lady friendly course as there are not a lot of carries off the tees or into the greens. River Oaks can be played on our Super Saver Package with rates in off season as low as $36 per golfer and as high as $51 per golfer in season.
This course is terrible! The pace of play was ridiculous and there were no rangers. It took a foursome almost 6 hours to finish. It is a cow pasture with flags. It was not worth the 20 bucks I spent to play. I would not recommend it to anyone.
